Jennifer Lopez Tutorial

Okay, okay I’m listening! = )You asked for more Jennifer and here she is! Lopez really lights up the (whatever color) carpet with this look. Her makeup artist is very in tune with what looks flawless on her skin. The hint of purple in the crease compliments her eyes and the soft orange right above that compliments her skin. She couples the same orange on her cheek and a hint of it in her lips as well. If you want to know how to get this look click the video below!

Just in time!!

Just in time!!

Ladies, here is Codi, a fellow makeup artist and dear friend to teach us more about our eyes and the skin surrounding. I love her and I know you do too. So here she is, take it away Code…

When it comes to the eye area, it surprises me that such a small area of the face can hold so many problems for so many women. Whether it’s fine lines, deep wrinkles, crow’s feet, dark circles, or puffiness…. it seems like the eye area is a small, yet major, pain in the ‘keester’ for many women.
That is why I am so overjoyed with the latest product from Lancome, and I know you will be too!!
Introducing……
Lancome Renergie Eye Multiple Action Ultimate Eye Care Duo
It is an eye cream and veil in one convenient gorgeous package!! *There’s even a mirror in the flip top of the veil.* It’s an eye care duo that combines 2 treatments for 6 visible anti-aging actions!
Skin truth
Youthful-looking eyes are the key to a youthful-looking face. The eye area is the most delicate part of the face, so it is the first area to show the signs of aging.

Lancome innovation
Eye care at its peak. Lancome introduces its ultimate eye care system, Renergie Eye Multiple Action, a unique combination of two treatments for six visible anti-aging actions.

  • eyelids are visibly lifted
  • the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles is virtually erased
  • the eye contour looks firmer
  • under-eye bags are visibly deflated
  • dark circles appear faded
  • the eye contour looks illuminated

The eye area is visibly revitalized. In just 4 weeks, the whole face looks up to 5 years younger.

Each client that I have shown this new product to has been blown away by the results she has seen with just one application and has snatched this product up without hesitation. I, myself, could hardly believe the difference that it immediately made with some of my clients. Not only does it look amazing but the feel of both products is so light, and so soft. Now to be clear… the veil is not a concealer. It contains Sea Pine Bark Extract, a wonderful antioxidant, to help with puffiness and light-reflecting pigments to help illuminate and brighten the eye.
You apply the cream:
1. Under the eye
2. To the upper eyelid
3. Above the eyebrow
4. And along the crow’s feet and temple
All these areas, both day and night.
You lightly apply the veil with your ring finger:
1. To the inner corner of the eye
2. On dark circles
3. And under the outer arch of the eyebrow
All these areas, only in the day after the cream. Then follow with foundation (and concealer if you wish).
The veil comes in Light, Medium, and Dark and the price is $75.00. I know, I know, some of you are thinking this is a little pricey… but I guarantee you it’s worth every penny, and a little goes a long way! Also, to make it even better…..
THIS SUNDAY IS THE FIRST DAY OF FREE GIFT TIME!!!!
With any purchase of $32.50 or more you get the free gift! You get to choose which color of bag you would like (blue, green, or pink) and then you get to choose 6 out of 12 free items. There are skin care products (the genefique is an amazing serum), makeup, a bronzer, and the amazing Bifacil eye makeup remover.
This really is an amazing chance to try a remarkable product that will eliminate many eye woes, and get some other fabulous free stuff at the same time!
Happy eye area to all!!!

Tricks to Flawless Skin By the Glow

Tricks to Flawless Skin By the Glow

Here is our Monday wisdom from dailyglow.com. Here are some tricks and some great products to help out with giving you the most flawless face EvEr!!!

Under Eye Circles:
Whether caused by a lack of sleep or just genetic bad luck, dark under-eye circles are tough to cover up — and nearly every woman has experienced them. Although many makeup artists have suggested using a concealer one shade lighter than your natural skin tone, Napoleon Perdis, makeup artist and eponymous founder of the cosmetics line, says it’s quite the opposite.
“Use a creamy concealer that’s an exact match to or even slightly darker than your skin tone,” Perdis says. “Going a shade lighter will just draw attention to the area and create an ashy tone.” Look for a formula that has orange undertones to counteract darkness and purple and blue tones.
Keep in mind when choosing your under-eye concealer that the consistency should be light but creamy. The heavier the consistency, the more likely it is to settle into fine lines and exaggerate flaws.
Try a moisturizing concealer like Clinique All About Eyes ($16). Gently tap the fluid around the eyes and let it dry for a minute or two before blending. If you need an extra boost of brightening, try YSL Touche Éclat ($40), a makeup-artist favorite for its magic-wand-like brightening properties.

Blemishes:
When dealing with dreaded pimples, look for a concealer that does double duty, concealing the acne and treating it at the same time. The best options are oil-free with blemish-fighting ingredients like salicylic acid or tea tree oil, says Perdis. Stick formulas can be a good choice because they are thicker and drier, so they tend to offer better coverage.
Murad Acne Treatment Concealer ($21) is a great option — the oil-free stick offers long-lasting coverage and contains salicylic acid to heal breakouts. Or try TheBalm Liquid TimeBalm Spot Concealer ($20) with antimicrobial tea tree oil.
To apply, use a concealer brush — look for one with stiff bristles — and gently dab the formula on the pimple as well as the perimeter. Let it set for approximately one minute. Then, “blend out the edges so you don’t see where the concealer meets the skin,” adds Perdis. Finish up with a light dusting of loose powder to set the concealer. If the breakout becomes severe, cover with a heavy foundation in a stick formula. “Concealer will only bring attention to the breakout,” Perdis says.

Scars:
A stick concealer is your best bet, says Liz Pugh, a Rimmel celebrity makeup artist. “It won’t move around on the skin as much,” she explains.
Similarly, Perdis likes using a concealer pen. “For scars that are raised, the pen is perfect because the light texture gives you a smoother coverage,” he says. “Also, it won’t bring too much attention to the scarring like a creamier concealer would.”
Maybelline Cover Stick Waterproof Concealer ($4.99) and Nars Concealer ($22) both go on like a lipstick and cover imperfections with an opaque camouflage.

Fine Lines & Wrinkles:
Before you even think about slathering on foundation or concealer, start covering any lines or wrinkles right after you wash your face. “The rule of thumb for covering fine lines or wrinkles is to initially hydrate and moisturize,” explains Perdis. A serum and or moisturizer with hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid will fill lines, reducing the need for a heavy concealer. Similarly, your concealer should contain moisturizing properties, “as any other type of concealer will create a cakey effect,” Perdis adds. Fresh Umbrian Clay Absolute Concealer ($22) hydrates skin with an algae extract and provides crease-resistant coverage.
Another option? “Try an illuminating foundation as an alternative,” suggests Pugh. “Otherwise, wrinkles could be exaggerated if your formula contains heavier ingredients.” Try Sonia Kashuk Radiant Tinted Moisturizer ($12.99) for a sheer wash of coverage with a subtle luminizing effect.

Blotchiness, Redness, & Brown Spots:
These be the result of myriad issues, including (but not limited to) age spots, sun spots, and overall hyperpigmentation. But it’s critical to keep in mind that “with uneven tone, you want to correct — not conceal — with complementary colors,” explains Perdis.
So rather than slather on a flesh-toned formula, look for one that follows the color wheel and contradicts your skin woes. Got splotchy redness? Opt for a primer with green hues. For purplish areas, select one with golden undertones, suggests Perdis. Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Correcting Primer ($10.95) offers a green pigment to balance redness as well as a nude option.
And always make sure to use a tinted moisturizer or light foundation to further create that even base, says Pugh. “A good foundation will let you build the coverage you need in certain areas a little more than just using a concealer,” she adds. Try a lightweight formula like L’Oreal Paris Magic Smooth Soufflé ($15.95) with a sheer light-reflecting pigment to help blur imperfections.

Ruddiness & Rosacea:

The key to hiding redness, including rosacea flares, is to avoid further irritating your skin. Sensitive-skin formulations are usually smart choices. And wearing SPF is crucial since sun exposure only aggravates rosacea.
For spot treatment, try Tarte At Ease Micronized Clay Calming Concealer ($30). This combo of cream and powder cover contains soothing aloe and honey to treat irritated skin while it hides red patches. FusionBeauty PrimeResults Anti-Redness Primer ($42) serves as a great allover treatment with calming natural ingredients and inflammation inhibitors.

Votre Vu and MAC Giveaway!!! *CLOSED*

Votre Vu and MAC Giveaway!!! *CLOSED*

So I think you are all such great followers. Do you know that? I love hearing your emails and comments. Some have moved me to tears with how you had “given up” and not felt like you had the time to put any effort into “you”. Trust me when I say that I have been in your shoes. I have woken up with two little boys, not had time to do ANYthing to or for myself and had no car to get around (we still only have one) so I figured, why get ready? What a WASTE of product when no one will see me. I barely even saw my husband during the years of working and going to school full time. I would be in bed most nights before he got home. I remember back to a time where I was counseled to look my best to feel my best. It didn’t mean being overly shallow and obsessing about what I looked like on the outside. It means getting out of bed, knowing that you are important to not only your family but to someone who has a perfect love and wants to see you happy. For me that is my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ. I am sorry if this offends anyone who isn’t spiritual but it is who I am and I love what my faith offers me =). I know that I am important and it makes a difference when thinking about my inner and outer appearance. It’s not rocket science to know that if you get out at least 3 times a week to exercise, even if it’s not that strenuous, your body will thank you! Endorphins will be released leaving you happy and healthy. Washing your face every night will make you feel clean and will keep your face clear. Eating healthily will keep you energized and will help with clear skin. For those of you that are moms, set aside time for yourself to do a five minute “face” so that you feel ready to face the day. It could be the five minutes before your hubby gets home but make the time to feel pretty. I’ve been trying something new that I want to share. First off, I miss going to work (somewhat LOL) because I got dressed up, put makeup on and I felt a part of something…a team! What I have been doing is saying to myself Monday Wednesday and Friday are my “work days”. I get up a bit earlier, put on my makeup and a nice casual outfit. Being a mom is my “job” so I plan activities, projects and meetings with my “team” (even if the attention span isn’t the same LOL). My days off are for SURE earned and I wear sweats and no makeup if I feel like it =). I want you to know that each and every one of you is worth MILLIONS!!!!! Take the time to pat yourself on the back for the good that you do, the projects you either finish or even attempt to finish. Strive to be the type of person that everyone loves being around and you will be beautiful inside and out.

Having already written a novel it’s time to give back to you to show my thanks. I am so excited to partner up with Marti to offer you a great beauty giveaway! You will be able to try out the amazing french skin care goodies that have been gracing several magazine covers and articles, a SIGMA trial sized brush, PLUS a 6 color MAC palette!!! It doesn’t stop there, we are going to have two winners this time =). Our first prize winner will receive the Votre Vu Skin Care, the MAC shadow palette and the brush. Our runner up will also receive Votre Vu goodies in addition to my FAV lashes, the Demi Whispies in black and a Maxine’s Mop brush!!! How do I enter? Well, I am so glad you asked ; ). It’s really quite simple. You must:

– be a follower (that’s a given right?) =) this is open world wide p.s.!!!
– be 18 years old or have parent’s permission to give out address to receive prize
– refer as many people as you can to do the same
– leave a comment saying that you follow and anything else you want =D
– have your “referrals” do the same and list YOU as their referrer (is that a word?)

Our first prize will go to the person that refers the most people and our runner up will be chosen by random.org. Our contest starts today 4/10/2011 and end one week from today 4/17/2011 at midnight MST.  Good luck!!!

Review On the ProX Brush

Review On the ProX Brush

Let me be clear….I LOVE THIS BRUSH!!!!!!! Got it? Okay great, I’m glad! The first time I used this brush I couldn’t stop touching my face. It was the most amazing feeling ever!!! Now this post is a little two in one deal. Because I am going to send out major love about this brush I also have to issue a warning. Even though we need to exfoliate and deep clean our skin every now and then it is damaging to do it too often. Also, pLeAsE be careful what you are scrubbing your face with (see info below). I have used this brush for a month now. For the first week once a day then only once a week for the rest of the time. I also started this month using my Glimpse gel cleanser WITHOUT scrubbing beads and I STILL felt smoother than SMOOTH!!!!! With that  said, let me introduce you to my friend Kim. I have known Kim for YEARS!!! We grew up together, went to school together and upon coming to Utah have had SUCH fun girl’s nights out spent reminiscing and eating yummy food. In her own words, here’s what she’s been doing professionally =):
-I got my Associates in Science from UVSC
-Went to Dallas Roberts and did 1200 hours education and hands on training.
-Did extended education on Laser treatments through a laser facility and got certified in that. I hope to work in the medical side of Aesthetics in the future.
-I am now a licensed Master Aesthetician.
Now here is what Kim wants us to know about exfoliation:
Don’t get confused by this info…exfoliating is a good thing BUT just not overdone.
Anything that lives has to die and if we don’t do anything about it, then it will just sit there making the skin look dull and lifeless. Not to mention acne sufferers, dead skin cells can clog pores and that could worsen acne! Exfoliating the skin by using “mechanical exfoliation” in excess can cause more harm than good. Studies show that scrubbing often, can irritate the skin causing inflammation. Inflammation can cause premature aging on the young skin, and accelerate the aging process even further for the mature skin. Now a days this would be something to avoid. Many of the exfoliating properties used in “scrubs” are harsh ingredients like crushed walnut shells, powdered sea shells, ground up plastic. In a research done by the American Association of Dermatology, when they examined a face that had been exfoliated three consecutive days. Microscopic view proved that the surface of the skin was scratched, irritated and inflamed.

Industry Tip: dry skin tends to flake and have a layer of embedded dead skin cells on the surface, “scrubbing” for this type of skin should be done once or twice weekly. Combination to Oily skin types should “scrub” only once weekly. Sensitive skin types should avoid all types of “mechanical exfoliation”
March Favorites

March Favorites

Here are the March favs!!! I am looking forward to going out and buying some loot here pretty soon to bring you more options and MORE savings. By the way, do YOU have a request? Send it to my email and I’ll getter done! =)
Becky is up first with her March favs!

First up is the limited edition Urban Decay 15 year Anniversary 24/7 liner set. Out the door, it’s crazy expensive at $92 but you’re only spending just over $6 per full-sized liner which is a crazy good value. I’m a huge fan of Urban Decay’s liners and all of them are super pigmented and smooth. I love that there is a big variety in colors as well, I’m able to wear something different every day. They also work well as a base! Also included with the set is their Sharpener which is worlds better than your standard cheap sharpener (who knew!). My only complaint is that the packing plastic that it’s wrapped in has a strong smell to it and you have to let it air out for a week and store the pencils elsewhere. Also, Perversion (which is THE blackest black liner I have ever seen) clouds up my contacts when worn on the waterline.
Next up is Benefit’s Boi-ing concealer. I’m always trying to hide my under eye circles and liked Erase Paste because it brightens but sometimes it would start look look cakey on me after a few hours. After hearing how much Jen loved it in a post I decided to try out Boi-ing and this is MUCH better for me! You need next to zero product and I just pat it on and it covers up my circles and the redness around my nose just beautifully.
I am in love with Tarte’s new Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Wear Powder Blush in Glisten.  I bought it in a set off of QVC (my first purchase from there- it was at a lower price of $52 for eight items if you include the bag!).  It’s a great pinky-peach blush with some shimmer but it doesn’t make my pores appear any larger as other shimmers usually do.  This Blush lasts 8 or so hours on me which is much longer than normal blush.  When I usually do a quick touch up in the late afternoon (thank you oily t-zone) I’m always pleasantly surprised that I don’t need to apply more blush  .  Love it!!  (p.s. the brush with the set is ah-may-zing!)
Also, I’ve been using the Olay Pro-X… I’m a fan!
Next comes Sariah with her favs:

I have an eye cream that I love that I bought from Sephora. It’s called REN. I am a “weeper” so my eyes are constantly getting a dose of salt water tears which is incredibly drying. This helps out with that SO much!
I have also been using a face wash by Clean & Clear that I love. It helps out with blemishes and breakouts like it’s nobodies business! (Psst, this is Jen, I wanted to post this so I’ll have to ask her the name of it later!)

A Dose of Daily Glow

A Dose of Daily Glow

Every Monday I feature tips from the dailyglow.com. Dr. Jessica Wu is an amazing dermatologist to the stars and has so many tricks up her sleeve they just HAD to be shared with the ladies at Classy. Today she tells us about a homemade cookie foot scrub =). She writes:

I admit I have a weakness for Girl Scout cookies, and I can’t resist buying a box (or several) when I walk past the cute little girls selling them outside my local supermarket. My favorites are Thin Mints, which I keep in the freezer. I know, they’re high in sugar — but I try to limit myself to one or two at a time, and not every day. Plus, I like supporting the scouts in my neighborhood.
While cookies are not part of my Feed Your Face diet, cookie scrubs are featured in Chapter 11, titled “Food on Your Face: Food-Based Ingredients and Easy Recipes for Make-at-Home Remedies.” Your feet have been trapped in shoes all winter, so why not make this foot scrub to help get them in shape for spring? (It smells just like Thin Mints!)

Peppermint Patty Foot Scrub
– 1 cup coarse sea salt
– 5 tablespoons olive or coconut oil
– 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
– 1/2 cup fresh mint, minced
– 3 drops peppermint essential oil (optional)

Mix thoroughly and massage into your soles, focusing on calluses and rough patches. For best results, first soak your feet in warm water for 10 to 15 minutes, or use the scrub after a bath or shower. Follow by applying a rich foot cream. Repeat every week to keep your feet soft and sexy.
