Even though this movie totally creeped me out it still had moments of normalcy. Like, I really felt drawn to Gina Davis. She wore clothes like my mom, was kind and, well, normal. There was also this magicians assistant who I thought was beautiful and I loved her two piece outfit….LOL see what I did there? At least I make myself laugh right? π I loved her makeup too!!!! So as not to have to paint my whole body blue, I had the genius idea to buy a Morphe suit, well two Morphe suits! For my lower half, Kevin and I wrapped my legs in Saran Wrap, then packing tape. We caaaaaarefully cut a seam down the back of both legs so that I could awkwardly hop out of them π€ͺ. We then taped them back up and filled them with shirts to keep their shape since weβd be putting another Morphe suit plus fishnets on them. To construct our faux couch I had to get creative. I took a rectangular coffee table that had a removable glass top. We took the glass out, and decided to wrap it and other items under a black sheet that I cut a small X in for me to kneel in. The boys took four pool noodles, cut them in half, stacked them, taped them and they instantly became arm rests. We pushed the table up against the wall and propped couch pillows along the back. Threw the sheet in top and voila! Instant couch! One of my favorite moments was when I asked my 14 year old to come and put his hand on βmy legβ so I could smack him with my handbook π. Ps Beetlejuice was totally on Broadway right @colormemagic???

I love Lucy….but for realz, I do! My grandma and I would watch them aaaaallllll the time together during my summers as a kid. We would sit and just giggle and giggle at her silly antics. Have I told you I was a nanny? A nanny for a big movie star? Well I was (ladee dah) but sometimes it had its perks! We went to vacation in Palm Springs one time and the house was seriously right out of the 50/60s. It had Lucile Ball memorabilia everywhere so I immediately LOVED it!!! I asked the cook if the original owner had just been a crazy fan. She looked at me like I had lost ma mind and said, βChild? You in Lucille Balls HOUSE!β π³π³π³ After I got up from fainting I think I spoke to myself all day after that. Iβm sitting where Lucille Ball sat. Iβm swimming where Lucille Ball Swam. Iβm sleeping where Lucille Ball slept…….if ever she slept in the guest quarters π.
πΆ You just keep on pushin my love over the BORDERLINE πΆ Madonna is live in stories now. I was born in March of 1980 and grew up listening and dancing to Madonna so I felt it only right to do vintage Madge. Thanks to my hubby for changing my eye color…..I would have had NO clue how to do it LOL. Below is the video so you can see step by step how to achieve this look.
This could very well be my FAVORITE I have ever done on myself. Just loved it……..and now I think Iβll need to actually see the movie. I havenβt!!!!! How crazy is that????? Is there a movie you feel EVERYone has seen but you havenβt? (Ahem @jessicashakirbeauty Princess Bride….and every other movie πππ). β’
It was a dark and stormy night…it probably wasn’t but doesn’t that sound good??? My parents had left my older twin brothers to babysit me and my younger brother while they headed out on a date. We were told to go to bed and the older two could stay up and watch a movie. My bedroom shared a wall with the living room and I heard every sound, every word, every straaaange word. I couldn’t take it anymore. I had to know what they were watching. The army crawl seemed appropriate. I got out of bed and tried to make the armed forces proud as I made my way to the doorframe (can you just see my dramatic 8 year old self assuming someone would spot me in my own bedroom? π) As I rounded the corner I saw the most disturbing, colorful and mind twisting images (thank you Tim Burton). Beetlejuice had just risen from the grave and I was officially traumatized. I think it’s hilarious now but the dinner party scene? Horrifying to a child. The claymation? Twisted!!! And this week we will share it with our oldest sons π. The circle of life my friends. I love that this year they have seen me transform into the weirdest characters and now they’ll understand where they came from. Like Harry the Hunter here who we meet as he forever sits in the afterlife waiting room. I used and old scout shirt, towels to prop it up around my shoulders and dollar store ping pong balls cut in half. My husband drilled timy holes in them so I could still see….somewhat π. Ladies and the three gentlemen that follow me….welcome to BEETLEJUICE WEEK!!!!!!!!!πβ€πβ€π
Sid was βthat kidβ we knew in elementary school. Every class had one. That tough persona, the one who blew things up and was terrible to his siblings and everyone around him. This creation cane from that straaaange imagination of his π. Was anyone else terrified by this baby after watching the first Toy Story??? I was an ADULT and I totally was πππ. Thanks to @amytwatts for being such a good sport as I sprayed, taped and glued my way into this look ππ»ππ»ππ». Mo Creations is the GENIUS behind the device she is wearing. We used a cereal box, foam, brads and spray paint to make this bad boy. We also have a time lapse showing the makeup on my YouTube channel. What do you think of this Pixar @colormemagic? Okay, QUESTION time!!!!!! What character has ALWAYS freaked you out from a movie when you were a kid? Mine will always be the creature from the Dark Crystal whose feathers were all plucked out. WHY WAS THAT A KIDS MOVIE???????? πππππππππππππ β’
Benson….not Slappy, even though he looks like him π! Benson and his crew were sooooooo creepy in this movie. Thereβs something about characters that are sinister and canβt speak. Anyone watch Buffy and remember the gentlemen????? I had nightmares for DAYZZZZ!!!!! Here are some fun facts about Benson:
The idea of a ventriloquist dummy character was inspired by the original concept of Woody, who was originally designed to be a dummy.
They resemble Slappy the Dummy from the Goosebumps franchise, specifically the movie version of the character.
The Bensons walk irregularly due to dummies requiring a human hand to keep them upright.
Pretty cool right? Ladies and gentlemen, this cute lil guy is going to be Benson this year so we gave him a head start on his Halloween makeup. Show him some love below
