Norwex And A Giveaway!!!!!

Norwex And A Giveaway!!!!!

Have you heard of Norwex? Am I the first to tell you about it? I hope so (giggle) =D. I happen to love Norwex products and have seen the rags in action many times. I own a few and can’t wait to get more! They last forever and are SUPER effective at cleaning everything. The first time I was introduced to them I was super skeptical. I mean, really? A rag that can clean with just water and can disinfect itself within 24 hours? Sounds too good to be true right? RIGHT! Fast forward to NOW and I am convinced. What were the key factors in my conversion you ask? Well! 1. At my first party I took the challenge to wash all my makeup off with just water…..it WORKED!!! (I had even done a super smokey eye that day) and 2. (prepare yourself) Raw chicken was rubbed on the counter (gross) then swabbed so we could see the bacteria. Then it was cleaned with a Norwex rag (using only water) and swabbed again…CLEAN!!!! No bacteria, nothing!!! I love that I can give them to my son to wash toilets and not have to worry about chemicals. I can hang it to dry and in 24 hours it’s ready to use again. I know, I know that sounds disGUSTing but I saw a cloth that had been used a ton swabbed and it was clean! Seeing is believing ladies. Click here to see and also watch the video below on how I wash my makeup off with the body rag.

I buy mine from the lovely Kara who is always available to answer questions or help me out with my purchases. Not just because she is a consultant and amazing but she also happens to be a dear friend. I feel good handing you over to her to get your rags too =). Now here is my FAVORITE part!!! One lucky reader will win a body cloth and the suede face cloth!!!!!

Ipsy Bag For April

Here is the bag that was dropped off at my home for April. I must say I was VERY pleased with this bag and cannot WAIT to try out all of the pretty pinkness contained in it. The bag that I get for this month will be apart of a summer giveaway I am putting together so see if you like it =). Hugs!
Ipsy Beauty Bag For March

Ipsy Beauty Bag For March

Got my bag from Ipsy{dot}com for the month of March and just got around to videoing the opening of said bag. I am SUPER in love with the bag this month since I am a fan of all things Nautical ; ). Not a ton in this bag but it’s the first time that I was stoked about 90% of it! The eyeshadow pictured is a touch different than the colors I received. Mine was a fanTAStic teal and a caramel color. I am excited to put the hydrating mist in my kit (and to maybe use on myself) and the mirror is super cute and pink (which believe it or not, I am not always a fan of). Have you signed up for Ipsy or another beauty of the month club? What did YOU get this month? What are you excited to try?
Beauty Of the Month Club

Beauty Of the Month Club

I signed up for Ipsy.com in January, did you as well? Ipsy is a beauty of the month club where you pay $10 a month and receive all kind of beauty products. The absolute excitement of getting fun girly things delivered to my door is almost more than I can stand! I did choose the one that was the least expensive (women with husbands feel me right?) so what I have gotten so far does reflect that…kind of. There have been some amazingly wonderful full sized products and a few trial sized things that I can now put in a travel beauty bag. I am also pretty excited that I can give away some of the products to you since I have already tried them out in the past and know that I love them =). Here is the video of me opening up the two very first bags that I received. Enjoy and don’t forget to enter the Shabby Apple contest, it’s the last day!!!

You guys hear from me all the time telling you what I love and what I don’t. What works for me might not work for you and vice versa. My favorites might not be your favorites. Well Susie is a recent follower of the blog and she was kind enough to share with me her favorites right now. So take it away Suz and tell us what you love and why! =)

 1) The Jergens cream is really super similar to the Ponds cold cream, just a TON cheaper (can you hear my wallet cheering!).  It completely melts all my make up off without irritating my skin.  Does a darn good job of getting eye makeup off!  My sister turned me onto it when she did theater in high school.  2) Prescriptives super line preventer extreme.  CraZy expensive ($80- I checked) but again- doesnt irritate my skin at all.  My skin never seemed to get over being super sensitive after my little Lily Claire was born.  I should add that I’ve never actually bought this- when Prescriptives went out of business a few years ago (before they started selling online only) my mom bought every. single, bottle. she could find in the Birmingham area.  I’ve just opened my second to last bottle.  A little goes a long way. 3) Oil of Olay daily moisturizer for oily skin SPF 15.  I’ve used this for years.  if it ‘aint broke don’t fix it!!!

The second picture was a steal at CVS.  Wet-n-Wild was buy one get one free a the time.  After applying extra bucks, I got all four of these for $1.38 AFTER tax!!!

This was my birthday haul.  LoVe the Naked Palette.  Definitely going to take some practice with the darker colors.  The UDPP totally rocks!!  NARS blush in orgasm (can’t stand the name but oh well).  With my fair skin and auburn hair I was very please with the blush once I applied it.  The other tube is a mattifying face primer by Korres.  Good stuff! The Revlon Colorstay powder kind of snuck in.  I do have to say that it does a great job at helping to keep shine at bay.

Thanks Susie!!! There are a few items there that I haven’t tried and now am excited to go out shopping LOL!!! Susie first wrote to me asking what I would buy from Sephora with a gift card. I probably sent too many things but, hey, a girl wants what a girl wants right??? =) Sifting through my suggestions these items pictured above are the gems she came home with. Will they make her fav list??? Only time will tell =D.
Do YOU have a fav list that everyone needs to know about??? Send it to dollcosmetics@gmail.com and you too can be featured here on Classy. Can’t wait to hear what you can’t live without!!! Check out this great stocking stuffer below as well!!!
Got Gift Card?

Got Gift Card?

Susie recently wrote in to tell me that her SWEET sister gave her a gift card to Sephora….LUCKY!!! =D She wrote to ask what she should keep her eyes out for, what should she get? WELL let me thiiiink LOL. I have received quite a few emails like this one so I will give you a list of my MUST haves regardless of price and depending on how much you want to spend or how much your gift card is for, you can pick and choose =).
First and foremost of you do not have the Urban Decay Primer Potion (UDPP) you are SORELY missing out and need to rectify that situation like NOW! It is the best primer I have used, thus far, that keep my shadow looking vibrant all day long with NO creasing or fading.
Next I have to give a HUGE shout out to Makeup Forever’s HD Foundation cuz this stuff is where it’s AT!!!!! It’s like silk, it’s build-able, lightweight and lasts till the cows come home. It’s a little pricey but when you are in the market for a staple like foundation, TRUST me you will NOT be disappointed!!!
This bronzer from Urban Decay is wonderful. I love the natural color and the matte finish. When contouring you don’t want as much shimmer or else the sun will hit it and take away whatever shadow you were trying to create. You don’t want to use a straight brown when going for a more natural look so this one is perfect. I get my baked bronzer in “Toasted”.
The skin underneath our eyes is very delicate and very different from the rest of our face. I think we all have made the mistake of putting too much product under there (especially powder) and seeing our skin turn to reptile mode! Not a pretty look and no one really does it on purpose…I hope ; ). I use this miracle powder that is very fine, pinkish in hue to eliminate dark coloring and very good for your skin. In all, Benefit has a good track record for producing products that are heavy metal free, they do not test on animals and are phasing out all products that aren’t gluten free.
Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat
*DISCLAIMER*
I have YET to purchase this product but let me redeem myself by telling you why it’s on the list. This too is a pricey product ($40 for .1 oz) but VERY worth it especially if you are a makeup artist. I have shadowed and trained with some AMAZING artists and have read about all the rest HA! I kid you not, every single ONE of them owns this product and swears by it. While on a job I used it from another kit and was astonished at it’s magical powers of giving an instant eye lift and “eight hours of sleep” to models that had some darkness under their eyes. It was also great to contour with….yeah, it’s my next purchase (insert sheepish grin).
Don’t you love watching old movies where the girls bite their lips and pinch their cheeks for color? LOL I think it’s so funny and yet so cute to see what they went through to get that natural flush in their cheeks. Well we don’t have to resort to such painful measures. We have some great products on the market and this is one I love. This is a water resistant, gel based cheek stain that just GLOWS!!! I love using this on brides and for commercial work since it is so natural and yet build-able to give you a romantic flush. I also LOVE that this product is formulated without all of the harsh chemicals you find in most cosmetics today. Isn’t that awesome??? Paraben FREE…..HOORAY!!!!!
For those of you that have been here at the blog for a while or for those that have browsed through the archives will remember this. I said casually in a video that I highly recommended everyone going out and getting “Naked”. BOY was I mortified as I received a ton of emails pointing out what I had said and having a giggle about it =). After the natural blush in my cheeks wore down I think I corrected that statement in the next video LOL. I love the EYESHADOW “Naked” from Urban Decay and I’ll tell you why. Those that have learned and put into use facts about contouring know that subtle things can make a HUGE difference! This color, for me, is a light skin toned brown that enhances me crease, temple area and sides of my nose with natural ease. It gives just enough color to make a difference and if you don’t believe me do one side only and look in the mirror. RIGHT?!?!? Yup, it’s wonderful. I also use this color a TON when doing a smokey eye. I bounce back and forth between this and the bronzer to warm up said smokey eye. Few people know that you need to use a color in betwEEN the dark on your lid/crease and your brow bone color. A color that is natural, soft, and can “marry” the other two extreme colors together. I have found Naked to be a great shadow color to use for this. Go out and get “Naked” everyone…..you know what I mean!
On the same topic ; ), I think all girls need a good nude lipstick. One that doesn’t match your skin or foundation like Myth (MAC) but one that will have just enough color to not fade your lips away and make you look washed out. This has just enough sheen and brown to it that wearing it with your fav smokey eye will be irreSIStible!!! I love to use this in the center of my lower lip when doing a bold color in lue of Myth if I feel Myth is too much of a contrast.
Well there’s the list ladies! Those are the things that I would first look into and purchase from Sephora. From a MUA standpoint though I must share what I secretly long for….are you ready?
The Makeup Forever Flash Color Palette. (In Kronk’s voice) “Iiit’s beeaaauuuuutiful.” And BOY is it!!!! This bad boy would be so fun, amazing and versatile to use. It could be used for lips, cheeks, eyes EvErYtHiNg!!!!! Jenni wanty!!!!! What are your go to’s at Sephora? Want to add to the list? Write a comment below!

MAC vs Coastal Scents

Here’s the latest purple look I’ve done. I really love it because all of the colors I used were matte. I’ve found that the more and more I use them the more I become obsessed. Then again all that goes away when I use a shimmer for the first time in months and freak out that my eye looks glossy and wet, to DIE for LOL =D!!! All in all I think makeup is about phases, whatever we are feeling, how much time we have and how inventive we want to be. For me I have been using the CS Blush Palette like it is going out of STYLE!!!! So when I tried this vibrant purple I was shocked at how much I had missed drama. How long it had been! The hubs had requested a smokey eye (Idid them a lot when we met) and I am so very glad that he did =). Anyhoooo, this look is a little different for one very big reason. ONE eye is MAC and ONE eye is from the Coastal Scents 88 Palette. Can you see the differences? There are some of course but for those not ready to shell out almost $15 for one eyeshadow the 88 palette, at $19.99, is a pretty welcomed sacrifice. The colors themselves are so pigmented and long lasting that they performed just as well as MAC all day long (of course I used my Urban Decay Primer Potion under both!). I hope that you enjoy this fun wearable purple and be looking for more comparison tutorials to come!
